(Wireless-NewsWire.Com, May 06, 2014 ) SAN DIEGO and SANTA CLARA -- Hosted by the Technology Services Industry Association (TSIA), the leading association for today’s technology services organizations, Technology Services World 2014 Best Practices kicked off yesterday in Santa Clara, California, with high attendance from leading players in the technology services industry.
TechFUTURES opened up the conference—a much-anticipated inaugural event that gave attendees a firsthand glimpse into the near-term future of technology services. Pivotal topics of discussion included analytics, collaboration, and service channels.
Following the afternoon luncheon, TSIA vice president of technology and social research John Ragsdale hosted the TechBEST Showcase—a tour of the most cutting-edge technology and services on the TSW EXPO floor. The tour focused on the spring 2014 TechBEST finalists, with winners to be announced on Day Three of TSW.
The opening keynote was delivered by TSIA executive director Thomas Lah on the topic of TSIA’s recently released book, "B4B," available on Amazon. In his impactful discussion, “B4B Success Tactics,” Lah drove home key points regarding the business-for-business (B4B) business model, which was first introduced in October 2013 at TSW Service Transformations. The B4B model aims to help technology services organizations evolve their offers and capabilities that will undeniably need to change as our industry moves forward.
Following were nine concurrent “Power Hour” sessions, where TSIA research executives presented results from recent TSIA research in the areas of analytics, education services, field services, managed services, operational best practices, professional services, service revenue generation, support services, and service technology.
The Pacetter track took place late-afternoon, featuring 13 powerful presentations from leading-edge companies who are achieving best-in-class results in their services businesses. These were spot-on how-to sessions on driving strategy and success in specific focus areas of the business.
At the close of the day, delegates were welcomed back into the TSW EXPO for a networking reception to mingle with peers and talk with some of today’s leading technology solutions providers.
